The death of Common Sense שכל ישר מתה

ב”ה

Posted to a board I own by a friend.  ‘Arabeth’

by an unknown, but very smart, person.
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
Why the early bird gets the worm;
Life isn’t always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 -year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and planned to have a medical procedure.

Common Sense lost the will to live as churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I’m A Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on.

If not, join the majority.

For some reason I was under the impression!!

ב”ה

For some reason I was under the impression that Believers in the Messiah were all just that.  Believers in the Messiah.

But I must be wrong.  Seems there are Jewish Believers and Gentile Believers (I don’t like calling believers pagans).  See What is a Gentile?   But it seems they are all fighting with each other, violating Torah to prove who is right and who is wrong, and G-d’s word is getting pushed aside for it.

When it comes to who is a Believer I was under the impression that there was only one way to be saved.

Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom 10:9-13  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  (10)  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  (11)  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  (12)  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.  (13)  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (KJV)

Rom 10:9-13  that if you acknowledge publicly with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord and trust in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be delivered.  (10)  For with the heart one goes on trusting and thus continues toward righteousness, while with the mouth one keeps on making public acknowledgement and thus continues toward deliverance.  (11)  For the pas sage quoted says that everyone who rests his trust on him will not be humiliated.  (12)  That means that there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - ADONAI is the same for everyone, rich toward everyone who calls on him,  (13)  since everyone who calls on the name of ADONAI will be delivered. (CJB)

It didn’t say Hebrew’s only, or Jews only, or pagans only, or non Jews only, or Greeks only, it said WHOSOEVER  in the KJV, in the CJB is reads everyone who  it also says that Jew and Gentile - Jewish ancestry and non-Jewish ancestry must call on Adonai to be saved.  That means NO ONE is Special.  All are sinners.   And that all have to acknowledge Yeshua/Jesus as L-rd.  And Believe in their hearts that G-d did indeed raise Him "Yeshua/Jesus" from the dead.  And I see no place where there is some magical formula or text one has to repeat to talk to G-d.

If you are "saved" - "delivered" - "redeemed" - "blood bought" - or what ever you want to call it, you are adopted into the family of the Most High G-d - יהוה - Adonai.  Whether you like it or not, I’m your Brother in the Messiah.  I belong to the same family you do.  I use G-d, and Adonai, and HaShem, and Most High G-d, and Elohim, even on occasion יי  for the name of G-d.  I do it because I respect HIM above all things.  I love HIM with all my heart, soul and being.

I most likely don’t agree with a lot you will say, and I know you are not going to agree with me.  I back all my faith with contextual scripture support and I REFUSE to accept single verse doctrines.  I think they are stupid.  I don’t keep rabbinic or sage kosher, only Biblical kosher, I do not think going out and buying two complete kitchens of utensils and supplies constitutes being a good steward of what G-d has provided.  I don’t eat young goats boiled in goat’s milk (or the milk of that young goats mommy) so no worries there, and Cheese burgers don’t offend me.  So assumptive reasoning doesn’t work.  I do not assume to think I know what G-d was saying other that what was written down.  So I do not assume that D’varim 14:21, Sh’mot 23:19,24:26 refer to cheese burgers or cheese and meat.

So when you start trying to over evaluate, regulate, or rabbinicize [cool new word] G-d’s Word, you will have no friend here.  I am a Biblically Obedient Believer in the Messiah.  And I did not use some assumptive transliteration to get there,  I used my heart, repented of my sins, I asked Yeshua/Jesus to be lord of my life and be my L-rd, I asked that G-d forgive me in the Name of His Son Jesus (that was all I knew in 1971) and I know in my heart of hearts that I am a child of G-d, and heir of the promise.  And I know that I was praying to the G-d of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Ya’akov.

So I really don’t care what flavor or sect of belief you are in, as long as you are a child of the Most High G-d as described above that is ALL that matters.

I do not support nor teach Christmas, or Easter observance as I believe them to be false feasts.  I understand why some observe them, I am not going to call down the wrath of G-d on you if you do, but I will teach you the origins of them and steer you to the Appointed times of the Most High.  I will not scream at you if you worship on the first day of the week.  I will teach you though how to observe and Honor Shabbat as commanded by the Most High G-d.

Once you are shown the truth of the commandments of G-d, and you choose to follow the doctrines of man, your choice could become sin if it is in violation of the commands of G-d.  In mans court it is said that "ignorance is no defense of the law".  In G-d’s word your guilty of sin even if you do not know it is sin.  But once you are made aware of the sin, you are required make it right.

L’hitraot and Shalom

What No Rabbi’s or Teachers?

So here you are alone and the only guide for life, for living, for companionship is a Bible.  You had heard of all these rules and guides but they were only distant memories.

But here you are and your about to embark on a life of Biblical principles.  Just you and G-d.  No Talmud, no Mishnah, no early church fathers, not even a concordance.

All you do know is that the basics, like sundown to sundown is a day not midnight to midnight.  You know what the first day is so you know your week, and you know how to read and you understand the words in the book.

And you live you life according to that book.  With out doctrinal or dogmatic interference.

1]  You do not eat what G-d has set apart as unclean to eat.

2]  You prepare your food and collect it prior to sundown on the 7th day.

3]  You have written Sh’ma on your door post.

4]  You accepted Jesus as your Messiah

Other than that all you have is your Bible for a guide.

Will you go to heaven when you die?

Hmmm!!

שלום עולם!

Published by mravmac under כללי - General

Shalom World,

Don’t you just hate that Hello World! default post. Anyway, if your looking for pearls of wisdom you most likely will NOT find them here. What you will find are the rantings of an Old Messianic Rabbi, that does not play well with others, and is opinionated, mean, crabby and generally a rock thrower.

With that said. Shalom
